After debuting in 2017 in bottle form, A to Z Wineworks' "Rosé Bubbles" wine quickly became one of its most popular offerings. The wine is among the three top selling sparkling wines produced in Oregon.
Now, Rosé Bubbles will be available for consumers in a 250 millileter can, a push by the Newberg winemaker to tap into a growing market.
In a press release, A to Z touts the "strong brand" of Rosé Bubbles as the foundation of what it expects will be grand success for this new, trendy packaging. Canned wine sales, it says, are up 68 percent total and sales of Oregon wines are up 18 percent.
This, founder and winemaker Cheryl Francis said, is a good reason to jump into the canned wine game.
"We want to be able to take our Rosé Bubbles on more adventures," Francis said in the release. "With the growing acceptance of high-quality canned wines, it seemed the perfect time to expand the potential for our Bubbles.
"Canned wines from the Northwest have been especially well-received, more than doubling sales in the past year. But nearly all of those sales are in the single-can 375 milliliter size. We really like the 250-ml size of our Bubbles cans. It's a responsible serving size that's likely to stay chilled and tasty to the last sip."
The canned version of Rosé Bubbles will be available at stores nationwide in four-pack boxes with four cans for a retail price of $20. According to the release, the wine will be "the same blend as the bottled Rose Bubbles, which Wine Enthusiast Magazine named an Editor's Choice for being 'fresh, lively and just plain fun.'"
